The Business Intelligence (BI) team is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting operational, financial and clinical data. The BI team supports web reports and various data platforms, creates and maintains dashboarding tools, and provides strategic analytics for the organization. By identifying trends, supplying accurate information and providing data-driven insights, the BI team helps Mortenson Dental Partners’ leadership and supported practices make the best decisions for business growth and optimal patient care.

Clinical Operations plays a crucial role in ensuring exceptional patient experiences and delivering the highest quality of care. It provides support, drives initiatives and allocates resources to effectively implement clinical strategies. The team also develops and executes a comprehensive continuing education strategy to keep clinicians up-to-date with the latest advancements. Moreover, it oversees clinical programs related to new technologies and systems, ensuring seamless integration and utilization. Clinical Operations partners with Practice Operations to manage vendor and supplier relationships to establish a formulary that offers high-quality products at competitive prices. Furthermore, it oversees clinical subcommittees to facilitate collaboration and decision-making. The team is committed to creating a positive and supportive work environment, continually seeking ways to make Mortenson Dental Partners a destination workplace for all clinicians.

The Communications team manages the flow of information to internal and external audiences, including team members and other internal stakeholders, industry leaders and the media. The Communications team assists executive and support leaders by disseminating important company updates to team members through our company intranet, email, virtual town halls, and other communication channels. They also actively engage with external dental associations and media to share news and elevate MDP’s profile across the industry.

The Development and Integration department pursues strategic growth opportunities that meet MDP’s cultural, operational and financial philosophies through acquisitions and denovos. The team also facilitates the integration of new practices to ensure they are onboarded in a timely and efficient manner, while updating existing practices so they are both aesthetically pleasing and include the most up-to-date equipment for our clinicians.

Through an open book management philosophy, the Finance team offers supported practices the tools and infrastructure needed to translate great patient care into financial success. They ensure compliance with various local, state and federal regulatory requirements to mitigate risk and ensure long-term feasibility. The department also enables individual practices to benefit from the presence of a larger entity by maintaining relationships with local and regional banking institutions.

Our Human Resources team provides employment-based expertise in several areas, including compensation, recruitment and selection; performance management; benefits; employee motivation; communication; and training. Not only do they attract, develop and retain qualified team members, but, because we are an employee-owned company, they also help to empower each team member to think like an owner.

The Information Technology (IT) team serves the technological needs of practices and support teams. A dedicated Help Desk resolves troubleshooting IT issues within the practice, while the Software Development team creates one-of-a-kind reporting systems. They also build and maintain business and communication tools that help make Mortenson Dental Partners a leader in dental information technology.

Learning & Development (L&D) supports operational needs by identifying skill gaps, designing learning strategies, developing learning solutions and supporting implementation. Through critical programs such as New Employee Orientation, Hire to Retire, Days of Learning, INSPIRE Leadership Academy, Operation: Team Bootcamp, and the online learning platform Mortenson Dental Partners University, team members receive best-in-class development to reach their greatest potential. The L&D team also administers the organization’s continuing education (CE) credential through the Academy of General Dentistry, including curating external CE resources and opportunities and creating learning assets that meet CE requirements.

The Marketing team is responsible for creating and executing strategies to attract new patients and engage with existing patients. The team carefully manages the presence of our brands on a national scale as well as on a local and regional level, utilizing various channels such as broadcast and OTT video, radio, display advertising, social media and traditional print advertising. Overall, the marketing department plays a crucial role in helping supported practices achieve their goals and share their message with patients.

Open six days a week and utilizing our proprietary scheduling tool and integrated best-in-class cloud-based contact center suite, the Patient Services team provides scheduling, rescheduling and appointment confirmation services. This team has the technology in place to meet the patient where they want to be served, via phone, email, website chat, text and even social media. In 2023, this team handled almost 1 million interactions in support of practices, including outbound calls for reactivation, recall and re-care efforts.

The Payroll department features a dedicated team of payroll experts who ensure compliance with wage and hour laws. They also minimize employment-related tax and payment compliance risk on a local, state and federal level, and help to improve process efficiency while reducing taxes and other expenses.

Practice Operations collaborates with cross-functional and supported practice teams to identify and align operational best practices across our organization. The team supports the communication, training and implementation of these practices, vigilantly monitoring results to gauge success and make necessary adjustments. The goal is to provide exceptional experiences for team members, patients, and practices.

The Revenue Cycle team supports practices by processing insurance payments, resolving payment delays, processing and mailing monthly patient statements, and helping with claims and payer issues. They are dedicated to optimizing payer relationships with end-to-end contracting as well as participation and fee schedule negotiations. They also maintain the fee schedules for each supported practice. Leveraging our national size, the team generates insurance contracts that are more favorable than those available to individual practitioners. In addition, the Revenue Cycle team supports dentists with the enrollment, credentialing and re-credentialing process, and maintains a database with the licensure status and insurance company enrollments for each supported dentist.

Risk Management applies to the ongoing process of identifying, evaluating and minimizing the risks associated with operating a healthcare-focused business. Our focus is on proactively preventing situations that can result in losses, harm or liability, such as patient privacy breaches, medical errors, hazardous working conditions, personal injury, property damage or financial liability.
