It’s National Prosthodontics Awareness Week, a dedicated time to raise awareness about the specialty of prosthodontics and foster connections between local specialists and the communities they serve. The American College of Prosthodontists reports that roughly 120 million Americans are missing at least one tooth. Missing teeth can lead to chronic pain, difficulty speaking or eating, and negative impacts on overall health. With specialized training in tooth restoration and replacement, prosthodontists help patients regain their smile, confidence, and quality of life. At MDP, we are proud to support three amazing prosthodontists who are committed to this mission daily.
Dr. Mark Nation
Advanced Dental Solutions
Dr. Mark Nation is a highly sought-after surgical and restorative prosthodontist. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Louisville (U of L) before earning his dental degree at the U of L School of Dentistry in 2000. He continued his training with a three-year residency through U of L’s Graduate Program in Prosthodontics. He is currently licensed to practice in Kentucky, Utah, Nebraska and Indiana. During his career, Dr. Nation spent 14 years on U of L’s faculty, where he served as an attending doctor for the General Practice Residency program in the Department of Surgical & Hospital Dentistry. Today, he is attending faculty in U of L’s Graduate Prosthodontics Department. He has lectured for the university’s undergraduate program as well as at study clubs and dental meetings across the United States for over two decades. In addition, as a BluePrint training clinician for comprehensive implant planning and treatment, Dr. Nation regularly trains and mentors general dentists and other specialists in the surgical placement and restoration of dental implants.
Dr. Katie Kuric-Moreno

Dr. Katie Kuric-Moreno obtained her bachelor’s degree in business management with a minor in biology from the University of Louisville (U of L). Her passion for dentistry led her to pursue a dental degree at the U of L School of Dentistry, graduating in 2016. She continued her education with a three-year residency through U of L’s Graduate Program in Prosthodontics, culminating in a Master of Science degree. During her residency, she honed her skills in restoring form and function to patients’ smiles, leaving a lasting positive impact on their lives. Dr. Kuric-Moreno’s passion for dentistry extends beyond technical excellence. It started with her own dental rehabilitation, which left a lasting impact to help others achieve their dental goals. She prioritizes building genuine connections with her patients and believes in restoring not only oral function but also the aesthetics that empower individuals to embrace their true selves. Her expertise in full-mouth reconstruction with implants – utilizing both fixed and removable options – sets her apart as a skilled and knowledgeable professional.
Dr. Mohaad Faraj
West Texas Prosthodontics
Dr. Mohaad Faraj completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Connecticut where he majored in biology. Dr. Faraj went on to complete his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of Connecticut School of Dentistry. Following his doctoral degree, Dr. Faraj attended a three-year intensive residency program specializing in surgical and conventional prosthodontics. He gained knowledge and experience in treating complex cases including smile makeovers, full mouth reconstructions and all aspects of implant dentistry. At the same time that he was completing his speciality training, Dr. Faraj completed a Master of Dental Sciences from the University of Connecticut to have a deeper understanding of materials he uses for patients on a daily basis. Dr. Faraj then earned his fellowship from the American College of Prosthodontics to become fully board certified. He has a comprehensive approach to dental care and strives to restore patients’ oral health to a stable state, eliminating the need for frequent dental visits for non-maintenance needs.
